Jo Lynn Valoff

Jo Lynn always wanted to earn a living as a writer. She graduated magna cum laude with an English degree from the University of Southern California. Prior to law school, she worked for a pharmaceutical company writing clinical summaries of eye care products for FDA product approval, and medical articles for ophthalmology journals. When she worked for a military electronics company, she assisted engineers in writing proposals to obtain contracts from the Department of Defense. She also wrote user manuals and marketing literature for developers of accounting, inventory control, and real estate management software. In 1995, she graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law and was admitted to practice the same year. She is also admitted to practice in the Central District and Southern District Courts. Her legal career has focused on all aspects of medical malpractice litigation for trials and arbitrations, and she particularly enjoys writing creative and persuasive arguments. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel. Her free time is spent playing golfing, thinking of a plot for a best-selling novel, and running. In 2010, she completed her first half-marathon.
